Berufliche Laufbahn

Joined Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1984 and has immensely contributed to the Foreign Service of Maldives by promoting foreign policy interests of the Maldives both abroad and at home. She worked her way from the rank of Protocol Officer to the rank of Deputy Chief of Protocol and accompanied the President of Maldives on official visits to the United Kingdom, Republic of Korea and Bhutan (2010-2012) and as the Chief of Protocol accompanied the President on State Visits and Official visits to Bangladesh, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, 76th UNGA, COP26 (2021-2022);

2011 Appointed as the Deputy Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. Later appointed as the Deputy High Commissioner to Malaysia until 2014 where she served as the Head of Chancery, overseeing the broad mandate of promoting and strengthening the bilateral relations between the Maldives and Malaysia and, looking after the consular affairs of the mission;

2014 Returned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Joint Secretary, in-charge of the Consular Services Department, overseeing all consular issues faced by Maldivians living abroad and facilitation of visas to Maldivians travelling abroad;

2016-2020 Served as the Ambassador/High Commissioner of Maldives to Bangladesh;

2020 appointed as the Chief of Protocol, the position in which she served till she was appointed as the Ambassador of Maldives to Germany, on 20th July 2022.
