Graduated from the Eastern Washington University in the United States of America in 1990 in the field of Business Administration. Subsequently, he received his Master's degree in Strategies and Security Studies from the UAE National Defense College in 2014

Berufliche Laufbahn

Prior to his diplomatic posting to Germany, Ambassador Ali Al Ahmed was the Director of the European Affairs Department in the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs looking after bilateral relations between the UAE and the different European countries. Before joining the Ministry, he held major positions in the field of Media and Communications. He was the Chief Planning and Strategy Officer to Etisalat, the biggest telecommunication company in the UAE, which operates in 19 countries with more than 185 million customers. In this position, he supported the company's strategic development to enter other markets in Africa and Asia.

Furthermore, His Excellency assumed responsibility for the Emirates Media's bouquet of television channels across the genre of news, sport, and entertainment as the Director of Abu Dhabi Television. In this function, he also looked after the opening and operations of news bureaus during the coverage of the Iraq war in 2003.
